Hello,
I'm trying to install a new Samsung 2TB SSD in my AK-41 mini pc. However I'm running into the issue of the motherboard not recognizing it via the SATA connection on the motherboard.
I have confirmed that the SSD is operational by setting it up and formatting using a USB to SATA tool and using on another pc.
I have confirmed that the SATA cable on the AK-41 motherboard is operational by plugging in an old 2.5 HD and BIOS detected it.
So the issue is purely the motherboard not detecting the SSD on the AK-41.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I did not purchase through this store but rather through Amazon. I'm just looking for technical support.
@Mei
Can I PM the order number to you or should I send to a specific email?
I am having a similar problem on the same model: AK-41. I installed a second 500GB M.2 SSD in the available slot, and it is not being recognized, or at least does not appear in the drive list through Windows. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
It sounds like you've done a great job troubleshooting the issue by confirming that both the SSD and the SATA connection are working independently. Since the problem is with the AK-41 mini PC not recognizing the Samsung SSD, here are a few steps and suggestions you can try:
Check BIOS Settings
- Update BIOS: Make sure the BIOS is updated to the latest version. Manufacturers often release updates to improve hardware compatibility.
- Enable AHCI Mode: Check if the SATA mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI instead of IDE or RAID.
- Rescan for Drives: Some BIOS setups allow you to manually rescan for new storage devices.
- Secure Boot/UEFI Settings: Disable Secure Boot or switch to Legacy Boot if UEFI is causing detection issues.
Power Supply Issue
- Ensure that the SSD is receiving adequate power. SSDs usually require less power than HDDs, but a faulty power connection or insufficient power supply can cause detection issues. Try using a different power cable if available.
SATA Port or Cable Compatibility
- Try Different SATA Ports: The AK-41 motherboard might have multiple SATA ports. Try connecting the SSD to another port.
- Check for SATA Cable Compatibility: While unlikely, the cable might be incompatible with the SSD. Try using another SATA cable.
